Steve Liggett joins us at WaterWorks Art Center to provide a two-day workshop on January 26 & 27 in the large studio room. In this workshop, Steve brings his passion for and background in papermaking to students of all skill levels. The workshop is based in the formation and manipulation of handmade paper as a medium for personal expression and includes simple sheet formation, watermarking, lamination, sizings, pulp trailing, using stencils, dyeing/pigmenting, using the Hollander beater and embedding foreign objects in the paper. All materials are provided .

Steve Liggett holds a BFA and MA with concentrations in ceramics from the University of Tulsa. Currently the Director of Liggett Studios, an exhibition and artist studio complex, Steve has a time-honored interest and study of papermaking that includes training with Kathryn & Howard Clark of Twinrocker Handmade Papers and two weeks with Tom Lang at Arrowmont School of the Arts. Steve brings his history and passion for papermaking back to WaterWorks as he incorporates our Hollander Beater and shares his knowledge with us.
