The Park and Recreation Department provides programs and facilities to support citizens of all ages. Whether it be participation in a fitness class, playing disc golf on a sunny afternoon, creating a one of a kind piece of pottery, joining a sports team, exploring nature on an early morning walk, or simply a peaceful place to read a book, parks are important to our quality of life.
The City of Tulsa Park Department oversees 8,200 acres of park land and 140 parks. Using the 2010 Master plan as a guide, we work with staff, citizen groups, advisory committees, and elected officials in our efforts to enhance parks and recreation services and facilities.
The City of Tulsa Park Department employees are constantly monitoring current industry trends and are dedicated to creating a safe environment for recreational activities, promoting self-directed activities for all ages, and offer a wide variety of programs, opportunities and amenities for all ages.
