$150 • December 6 & 7 • Friday & Saturday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
This two-day workshop addresses how to gild with composition leaf (5.25” x 5.25”) and how metal leaf can be used as a compositional element in a painting. Different kinds of leaf and varying applications of leaf are discussed as students create sample pieces that explore a variety of techniques that may be used. Variables such as size (glue) and sealers/varnishes are discussed. If time allows, patination of metals and its use in art may also be discussed. Participants may expect to leave with a completed, gilded art piece as well as several samples of the different gilding techniques discussed and demonstrated by the instructor. A supply list is available for enrolled students. Bring a sack lunch and drink to enjoy during a short mid-day break.
