The focus of this two-day workshop is to explore three of the elements found in a good painting: textures, shapes and lines. Each participant will make two mixed media paintings on uniquely made abstract backgrounds. They will experiment with a variety of materials including paper, paste, paint and plaster.
Teaching artists Becky Mannschreck and Angie Ellis, demonstrate their time-honored exercises that inspire and help get the creative juices flowing. Techniques taught include transferring photos, creative line drawing, adhering paper to paint, manipulating plaster for texture and much more.
All skill levels are welcome to join in the fun and all art supplies are provided for the workshop! Bring a sack lunch and beverage to enjoy at the mid-day break. WaterWorks Art Center has a refrigerator/freezer and microwave for your use. This workshop is sponsored by the WaterWorks Advisory Council.
